A SAP Case Study
Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS), the largest tax authority in Fiji, needed to modernize its aging tax administration systems and improve taxpayer services. With a 30-year-old ERP, incomplete data, and paper-based processes, FRCS wanted a self-service platform that would let more than 300,000 taxpayers lodge returns and access accounts and business-license services online. SAP S/4HANA and SAP Tax & Revenue Management were used to support this transformation.
SAP helped FRCS implement a workflow-driven, integrated digital tax platform with 24x7 online access and automated approvals. The result was improved workforce efficiency, better taxpayer compliance, and a 360-degree view of taxpayers, along with measurable impact including a 20% reduction in paper usage, more than 113,000 taxpayers registered online, about 170,000 PAYE returns filed online over two years, and about 260,000 VAT returns filed online over 3.5 years.
