A SAP Case Study
Coca-Cola HBC AG, a global beverage bottler with 33,000 employees, faced a challenge in manually managing user access across its 28 countries. Their homegrown system, which used spreadsheets and databases, was inefficient and struggled with inconsistent naming conventions, hindering compliance and scalability. To address this, they partnered with vendor SAP to implement the SAP Identity Management component, aiming to automate processes and align access with their organizational structure.
The solution from SAP integrated with the company’s existing systems to create a centralized, automated platform for access control. This implementation resulted in 52% of access requests being handled automatically, surpassing the initial 44% target and saving the equivalent of 12 full-time IT staff. The solution also significantly enhanced security, improved compliance tracking for audits, and enabled more cost-effective management of software licenses.
