A SAP Case Study
ESB, a utilities provider managing electricity and gas supply for Ireland and Great Britain, faced a challenge with an oversized database that was hindering its software performance. As part of a continuous improvement initiative, the company sought help from SAP, utilizing its SAP Enterprise Support services to reduce the data footprint, simplify archiving, and prepare for a future migration.
SAP implemented state-of-the-art database backup processes and management strategies to reduce and optimize the data volume. As a result, ESB achieved a 21% reduction in its data footprint, saving 3.7 terabytes of data and approximately €100,000 in costs through lower storage needs and software improvements.
