ENGIE, a global leader in low-carbon energy and services, needed a smarter way to manage hundreds of remote solar installations while maintaining reliable, efficient, and sustainable power generation. Working with SAP, ENGIE looked for intelligent technology to reduce downtime, improve maintenance responsiveness, and support its fast-growing solar business.

SAP implemented SAP Enterprise Product Development and SAP Predictive Asset Insights, connected through SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP S/4HANA, to create a simulation-based digital twin for ENGIE’s solar plants. The solution delivered 100% accurate remote recognition of production losses, a 35% productivity gain in maintenance, travel, and diagnosis activities, a 11% reduction in production losses from faster fuse replacement, and a 10% reduction in carbon emissions, with the project completed in seven months.
