A SAP Case Study
GSK, the global biopharma company, needed to modernize workforce planning because it depended on manual Excel-based processes, fragmented tools, and inconsistent reporting across markets. This limited forecasting accuracy, reduced visibility, and made it difficult to plan efficiently. SAP Analytics Cloud was selected to help GSK move to a more standardized, data-driven planning approach.
SAP implemented SAP Analytics Cloud for Workforce Planning, supported by SAP Datasphere and related SAP technologies, to automate forecasting, improve reporting consistency, and enable better drill-down analysis and collaboration. The solution went live in December 2024 for planning across all 77,000 full-time and contract employees, and GSK reported tangible benefits worth tens of millions of pounds, along with improved forecast accuracy, lower tech costs, and stronger financial control.
