Case Study: EDP achieves 100% compliance with Aneel regulations with SAP IS-U/CCS

EDP Brazil: SAP’s IS-U/CCS regulates Energy Company to Aneel’s Normative Regulation Nr. 414

EDP Brazil, a major energy utility company, faced the challenge of complying with Brazil's new Normative Regulation Nr. 414/2010 from the national energy agency Aneel within a strict six-month deadline. To meet these new requirements for electric power supply and customer relations, the company turned to its existing technology partner, SAP, to implement a solution using the SAP IS-U/CCS (Industry Solution-Utilities/Customer Care and Services) module.

SAP, with implementation partner Logica, developed and integrated a solution using the IS-U/CCS functionalities into EDP's existing SAP environment. This allowed the company to achieve 100% compliance with the Aneel regulation on time. The implementation also brought significant performance benefits, including the automated processing of over 140,000 energy consumption invoices per night. SAP's solution provided EDP with the reliability and systemic integrations needed to successfully adhere to the new rules.
