A SAP Case Study
Deutsche Bahn, a major German transportation company employing over 211,000 people in Germany, faced a challenge with its outdated, manual processes for occupational safety and medical services. The company needed an integrated system to connect its many divisions and external service providers. After evaluating several vendors, Deutsche Bahn selected SAP and its Environment, Health, and Safety Management solution to address this need.
SAP implemented a solution that digitized and streamlined all processes, from scheduling medical exams to managing hazardous materials. This allowed external doctors to interact directly with the system, which dramatically improved efficiency. The measurable impact was significant: the time to receive a completed medical report was halved from 14 to 7 days, and the rate of flawed or incomplete documents from external providers dropped from 15% to just 1%.
