Dell Technologies needed to simplify complex configuration, quoting, and order processes for distributors in the Asia Pacific Japan region. Working with SAP and its SAP CPQ solution, Dell aimed to replace manual, spreadsheet-driven workflows with a more efficient indirect e-commerce experience that would reduce errors and improve ordering for channel partners and sales teams.
SAP implemented SAP CPQ to create the Dell Distribution Online solution, giving partners real-time access to pricing, inventory, quoting, and 24x7 order placement with automated approvals and margin guardrails. The results included a single source of truth for order data, improved sales productivity, fewer order issues, 12,000 purchase orders per quarter, 20 person-hours saved per quote, and expected online revenue growth of more than 3x over two years.
