Case Study: City of Vancouver achieves faster, data-driven financial planning with SAP

The City of Vancouver needed a better way to support driver-based financial planning and improve decision-making across a broad range of city services, from infrastructure and utilities to transportation and recreation. Working with SAP, the city began modernizing its financial planning environment by moving to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition and introducing SAP Analytics Cloud to replace spreadsheet-heavy processes and strengthen budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.

SAP implemented a modern enterprise performance management foundation for the City of Vancouver, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP Analytics Cloud, and more than 70 SAP Fiori apps. The results included more efficient budget consolidation, redeployment of staff to higher-value work, and a faster budget cycle that dropped from 7 weeks to 3 weeks, while also improving data-driven planning and service delivery.
