A SAP Case Study
Staples Australia and New Zealand faced a complex and time-consuming challenge in managing its direct materials suppliers and inventory, which threatened its ability to reliably meet customer delivery promises. To address this, the retailer turned to vendor SAP to implement the SAP® Ariba® Supply Chain Collaboration solution and Ariba® Network, seeking to digitize and automate its manual procure-to-pay processes.
By deploying SAP's cloud-based platform, Staples integrated its supply chain collaboration with existing SAP systems, establishing standardized and automated workflows. The solution provided a unified view of inventory and supplier commitments, resulting in 96.8% of orders being delivered the next working day and 75.6% of supplier transactions becoming touchless, which freed staff to focus on more strategic tasks.
