Creating a platform for a cloud based system for global growth

Synthomer, a global specialty chemical manufacturer, needed a cloud-ready platform to support growth and standardize operations across multiple SAP ECC systems. The company faced supply chain inefficiencies, slow report generation, security and authorization gaps, and inaccurate data that caused day-to-day frustration for users. SAP S/4HANA on premise - Upgrade was used as the core platform for the transformation.

SAP implemented an upgrade of Synthomer’s existing SAP system to S/4HANA 2023, adding improved Fiori apps, cleaner data, stronger security, and better plant maintenance and financial reporting capabilities. Completed in just nine months and go-live in September 2024, the project delivered improved system performance, faster reporting, fewer mistakes and rework, a two-day finance close, and a cloud-ready foundation for the move to RISE.
