The Rak Al Khaimah Investment Authority, a public sector government in the UAE, faced the challenge of providing citizens with manual, time-consuming services only available during limited office hours. Their goal was to create a 24x7, paperless, and cashless smart government portal to save time and resources for both the government and its citizens. They partnered with SAP to address this challenge using a suite of SAP solutions including SAP ERP, SAP CRM, and the SAP NetWeaver platform.
SAP implemented an integrated solution that automated key services such as HR, finance, and judicial processes. This included a localized version of SAP ERP HCM to handle complex regional calculations. The results were transformative: hiring times were reduced from months to days, citizens could receive public prosecution documents in under ten minutes, and the time for a case to be heard by a judge was slashed from 90 days to just one.
