Coway Taking a Two-Step Approach to Transition Legacy ERP to Next-Generation ERP in the Cloud

Coway, a South Korean consumer products company known for water purifiers, air purifiers, bidets, and mattresses, needed to modernize an aging, highly customized legacy ERP system that was hurting performance and making it difficult to support its global expansion. To reduce disruption during its digital transformation, Coway worked with SAP, using RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition as part of a two-step move to the cloud.

SAP helped Coway first convert to SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA in a private cloud, then move to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition with support from SAP Cloud Success Services. The project migrated and validated 80 TB of legacy data in 18 hours, stabilized the new system within two weeks, and delivered major performance gains, including a 27.2x average improvement for optimized programs, 6.88x faster batch jobs, and more than 2x better peak-time response times.
