Cashew Coast Digitally Transforming Africa’s Cashew Industry to Strengthen Traceability

Cashew Coast, a leading cashew producer and distributor in Ivory Coast, wanted to improve quality, traceability, and transparency across its farm-to-factory supply chain while supporting women, farmers, and employees. To replace manual, paper-based processes and gain a competitive edge, the company turned to SAP and SAP Rural Sourcing Management to digitize data capture from smallholder farms through processing and distribution.

SAP implemented SAP Rural Sourcing Management to create a single source of truth for traceability, inventory, logistics, and farmer payments, with mobile and offline access for field agents. The results included 75% of systems automated, a 20% reduction in monthly labor days, 50% less paper use, and streamlined collection across 87 villages, helping Cashew Coast improve transparency, reduce waste, and make faster, data-driven decisions.
