A SAP Case Study
NEC Corporation, a Japanese high-tech company, needed to capture business management information from over 200 companies in its supply chain. The challenge was to ensure homogeneous global business standards and share information on a single, cost-effective platform. To address this, NEC turned to vendor SAP to implement a new two-tier ERP model.
The solution from SAP involved complementing NEC's existing SAP ERP application with the SAP Business ByDesign solution. This provided a standardized, cloud-based platform for the entire group. The results included enhanced governance, stronger decision-making, and end-to-end supply chain transparency. The implementation also led to a greater than 20% reduction in IT operation and back-office division costs.
