Energy Transfer, a North American oil and gas infrastructure company, needed a faster and more controlled way to handle the high volume of new business partner requests and changes to existing records. Its manual, portal-based onboarding process created administrative burden, data inconsistencies, and compliance risk, especially as approvals and validation had to be managed before updates could flow into SAP.
SAP partner Incture implemented the Cherrywork Business Partner Onboarding solution on SAP BTP, integrated with SAP S/4HANA, to automate end-to-end onboarding, validation, and approval workflows. The result was major efficiency gains: average completion time dropped to under 4 days for onboarding and under 2 days for change requests, with 2,403 requests processed in less than five months and onboarding volume increasing 50x per month versus the previous process.
