A SAP Case Study
HARTING Technology Group, a high-tech industrial connectivity leader, needed a scalable way to replace manual CO₂ footprint calculations for individual customer orders and meet growing sustainability demands and EU reporting requirements. To do this, Harting worked with SAP and SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, leveraging its existing SAP S/4HANA landscape to improve carbon tracking across thousands of materials and products.
SAP implemented SAP Sustainability Footprint Management to automate data collection and emissions calculations, providing one-click product footprint measurement across HARTING’s operations. The solution went live in 2024 across three factories, tracks 13,000 products, will expand to all 14 factories by 2026, and helped Harting report that 85% of its packaging material is recycled while strengthening bid competitiveness and supporting its 2030 climate-neutral goals.
