A SAP Case Study
Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, needed to modernize its legacy ERP systems and build a scalable, cloud-first utility platform while improving grid intelligence, data integrity, cybersecurity, compliance, and workforce readiness. To support this transformation, Tata Power worked with SAP as part of its RISE with SAP journey, using SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition and SAP Business Technology Platform, along with other SAP tools for utilities, integration, governance, analytics, and AI.
SAP helped Tata Power create a unified cloud-centric digital core that connected smart grids, meters, and customer services, while strengthening compliance and predictive decision-making. The impact included cleansing and consolidating 1.5 million master records, reducing technical debt and maintenance costs by 22%, and speeding up onboarding of newly acquired companies by 50%.
