A SAP SuccessFactors Case Study
Plan International, a global nonprofit working in 50 developing countries, faced the challenge of attracting, developing and mobilizing specialized talent across a 9,000-strong field workforce while relying on paper-based, decentralized HR processes. To centralize people data and improve talent management, Plan selected SAP SuccessFactors (including modules such as Performance & Goals and Recruiting) to replace manual appraisals and fragmented hiring records.
SAP SuccessFactors was deployed globally alongside Plan’s SAP HR and financials (with implementation support from Atos), moving performance appraisals online, cascading goals, and centralizing recruiting. The solution reduced administrative overhead, freed field staff from paperwork, improved talent visibility across regions, and delivered an estimated €150,000 in annual savings across 50 countries—helping Plan reallocate resources to programs and support growth from ~€700 million toward a €1 billion organization.
