A SAP SuccessFactors Case Study
Snohomish County PUD faced a talent-management squeeze: more than 35% of its 1,100-person workforce was eligible to retire within five years, HR processes were fragmented across aging systems and manual spreadsheets, and the utility needed to attract tech-savvy millennials. To modernize and create a single system of record with cloud-based self-service, Snohomish County PUD chose SAP SuccessFactors for human capital management, including Employee Central, Learning and later modules for recruiting, performance, compensation and analytics.
SAP SuccessFactors was implemented in waves (with integrations to SAP ERP, ADP Payroll and Benefitfocus) to ease change management, and went live in September 2015. The deployment centralized employee data, consolidated multiple systems into one record, eliminated many manual HR tasks, enabled employee and manager self-service, and improved reporting and analytics—freeing HR to focus on recruitment, career development and succession planning while giving managers real‑time access to workforce data.
