Replacing Résumés with Digital Behavioral Assessments

Scotiabank wanted to make campus hiring fairer, more objective, and data-driven so it could evaluate whole individuals and hire for potential rather than just resumes and experience. To do this it partnered with Plum.io and SAP SuccessFactors, deploying Plum behavioral assessments alongside SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting to support a résumé-less, skills- and potential-focused selection framework.

SAP SuccessFactors, together with Plum, integrated behavioral assessments into the recruiting workflow so candidates receive personalized talent profiles and recruiters see role “match scores,” enabling objective, scalable decisions. The résumé-less approach improved the candidate experience and drove measurable impact: visible minorities now make up about 60% of campus hires, women account for over 50%, and campus-hire retention has roughly doubled.
