Dole Sunshine Company, a global grower, sourcer, distributor, and marketer of fresh tropical fruit and healthy drinks and snacks, wanted greater accuracy and control in its quality control processes for fresh produce. As part of the Dole Promise to achieve zero fruit loss by 2025, the company needed to replace a manual QC process that was subjective and slow.

Working with Clarifruit, Dole Sunshine Company implemented an AI-powered QC platform that uses computer vision to automate fresh produce inspection and evaluation, including factors such as size and color. The solution created a worldwide centralized data repository, improved communication and efficiency, and allowed Dole to collect inspection data automatically; the company also reported a 2X productivity increase and said 100% of data from auto-generated reports is now on a single cloud-based platform for instant communication between stakeholders.
