VR Group, Finland’s state rail operator with about 6,000 employees, needed to replace multiple on‑premise HR systems with a single cloud solution to reduce the administrative burden of tracking health, safety and training suitability for some 4,500 operative staff and to improve manager and employee experience. To address this challenge VR Group selected SAP SuccessFactors, including the SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite and SAP SuccessFactors Mobile, for a flexible, mobile-first cloud HR platform.

SAP SuccessFactors implemented a cross‑module cloud solution (with extensions on SAP Cloud Platform and partner support from Gavdi) that automated eligibility management, enabled 24x7 mobile HR access, and introduced self‑service workflows—eliminating dedicated HR IT resources. The deployment delivered measurable impact: a 40% reduction in the cost of eligibility management and 100% employee adoption of the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app, streamlining training scheduling and improving safety compliance.
