Case Study: Microsoft achieves HR digital transformation across 109 countries with SAP SuccessFactors

A SAP SuccessFactors Case Study

Preview of the Microsoft Case Study

How Does One of the World’s Most Successful Companies Reimagine Its Global HR System

Microsoft sought to modernize and standardize its global HR infrastructure to make tools and processes readily available, boost employee performance, and deliver a world-class HR core for managers and staff. To address this, Microsoft partnered with SAP SuccessFactors, using SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding together with the SAP Value Assurance program to plan and govern the transformation for its roughly 230,000 employees across 109 countries.

SAP SuccessFactors implemented Employee Central and Onboarding while the SAP Value Assurance team helped obtain steering‑committee approval, set a data strategy and migrate data, expedite gap analysis and remediation, and connect Microsoft’s project team with SAP product experts. The result, enabled by SAP SuccessFactors, was a cloud-based HR platform that streamlines processes, improves the accessibility and consistency of HR services, encourages software adoption, and establishes KPIs to measure value across Microsoft’s global workforce.
