Chr. Hansen, a life‑sciences company that develops natural ingredient solutions, struggled to attract, engage, and retain highly skilled bioscience talent while managing fragmented local HR processes. To modernize HR and put people at the center of its strategy, Chr. Hansen partnered with SAP SuccessFactors, deploying solutions including SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, Performance & Goals, Compensation, Recruiting, and the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app.

SAP SuccessFactors automated core HR across 32 countries in 14 languages, provided self‑service and mobile access, consolidated performance and pay (replacing 200 spreadsheets), reduced individual goals from more than 40 to 2–5, and established a global recruiting system that built a 4,000‑person candidate pool in six months. These changes increased transparency and fairness, shifted ownership to managers, sped hiring, and strengthened employee engagement to support Chr. Hansen’s innovation goals.
