How Did a Food Service Company Whet Employees’ Appetites for Business Growth

Sligro Food Group N.V., a Netherlands–based food service and wholesale provider with about 12,000 employees, needed to modernize HR and keep a rapidly growing workforce motivated and collaborative as it pursued international expansion (after winning a major HEINEKEN logistics contract). To standardize and streamline HR processes across branches, Sligro turned to SAP SuccessFactors, implementing solutions such as SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and integrating them with the SAP Jam collaboration platform.

SAP SuccessFactors helped Sligro build a central, mobile-enabled HR hub and intranet—allowing staff to request leave, check schedules, and share ideas on the go. The rollout drove measurable impact: more than 95% of employees use their own devices to access the intranet and complete daily HR tasks, 11,500 users visit monthly, and 200 collaboration communities were created, eliminating paper processes, boosting engagement and efficiency, and laying a foundation for smooth international growth.
