A SAP SuccessFactors Case Study

Preview of the EDF Energy Case Study

How Can Utility Companies Empower Their People to Meet the Energy Needs of Tomorrow

EDF Energy, a leading UK generator and supplier of gas and electricity, faced mounting competition, aging infrastructure, and the need to attract, retain, and develop the skilled workforce required for a low‑carbon future (including projects such as Hinkley Point C). To modernize HR, create a single source of truth and improve agility, EDF Energy adopted SAP SuccessFactors solutions (including Employee Central, Recruiting, Performance & Goals, Compensation, Succession & Development, Workforce Planning and Workforce Analytics).

With SAP SuccessFactors implemented (with assistance from IBM Services), EDF Energy built a central HR hub that standardized 63 HR processes, identified and corrected 32,500 data errors, reduced performance schemes from nine to two, and cut HR cost‑to‑serve by 25%. The SAP SuccessFactors deployment boosted productivity, improved employee engagement and talent visibility, and enabled data‑driven recruiting and succession planning.
