Discovery Limited, a South Africa–based insurer with more than 12,000 employees, faced the need to standardize and automate HR processes groupwide, modernize HR to support a new people strategy aligned with business objectives, and improve recruitment and retention. To address these challenges they selected SAP SuccessFactors, with support from SAP Digital Business Services, to deliver a modern HR platform and collaboration tools.

SAP SuccessFactors implemented a unified HR platform (including SAP Jam) that established a single master repository for employee data, put HR metrics at managers’ fingertips, introduced digital sign-offs that shortened approval cycles by two days, and streamlined recruitment—building a 73,000‑candidate talent pool and onboarding over 1,900 hires in just over two years. The solution achieved 90% system adoption (12,000 daily users), processed 6,000 HR transactions per day, provided real‑time KPI visibility, and saved 519 reporting hours per month while increasing employee engagement via mobile self‑service.
