Collaborating to Share Solutions, Build Teams, and Celebrate Success with SAP Jam

Sun Communities, a Southfield, Michigan–based operator of manufactured housing communities and RV resorts with about 2,600 employees, faced the challenge of preserving a distinctive culture across existing and newly acquired properties, accelerating new‑hire assimilation, and improving engagement and frontline‑management communication. To meet those goals, Sun Communities implemented the cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite and deployed the SAP Jam social collaboration platform from SAP SuccessFactors to provide a single, mobile‑friendly HCM and social layer company‑wide.

By pairing SAP SuccessFactors with SAP Jam, Sun Communities accelerated onboarding and mentoring, encouraged employee‑produced learning (including informal videos), and enabled two‑way communication between management and frontline staff. The vendor’s solution produced measurable improvements in knowledge sharing and team‑member engagement, faster problem resolution, better sharing of best practices and vendor referrals, richer photo‑driven communication, and an overall stronger sense of community across Sun Communities’ properties.
