Preview of the Al-Ahli Hospital Case Study

Al-Ahli Hospital Improving Safety and Quality of Care with Continuous Professional Development

Al-Ahli Hospital, the largest private general hospital in Qatar with about 1,500 employees and patients from 34 nationalities, faced a complex, time-consuming challenge: ensuring doctors and nurses completed mandatory educational and occupational development required annually by the Ministry of Health and aligning individual development with hospital strategy. To address this, the hospital turned to SAP SuccessFactors, deploying cloud-based learning and performance management solutions (including SAP SuccessFactors Learning and Performance & Goals) to digitize and streamline training, licensing compliance, and goal alignment.

SAP SuccessFactors replaced a home-grown on‑premise LMS with cloud solutions that created individual learning plans for all employees, enabled 360° performance appraisals, and cascaded objectives from the CEO throughout the organization. The vendor’s tools delivered measurable impact: 100% digital workflows for training and performance management, all employees having learning development plans, and a rapid COVID-19 rollout where 1,200 frontline workers completed mandatory safety training in two weeks—improving compliance, manager visibility, and employer branding.
