Case Study: Trent Ltd. achieves 60% faster cutover and improved retail ERP performance with SAP HANA

A SAP HANA Case Study

Preview of the Trent Ltd. Case Study

Trent Smoothing Its Transition to Advanced ERP Using a Holistic Delivery Engagement Model

Trent Limited, a major Indian retailer behind brands such as Westside, Star Bazaar and Landmark, faced an aging IT landscape that could not reliably support high volumes of concurrent users and stock movements during peak sales, causing poor customer experiences and lost revenue. The company needed to convert roughly 7–7.5 TB of data to a modern ERP with a tightly constrained business downtime window ahead of the next season.

Working with Tata Consultancy Services and SAP, Trent migrated to SAP S/4HANA on SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud using the SAP Integrated Delivery Framework and SAP ActiveAttention, applying a fit-to-standard approach, rigorous testing and joint cutover monitoring. The move cut the business downtime by about 60%, improved system performance and dispatch processing, reduced POS interfaces, enabled browser-based SAP Fiori store apps, consolidated financial reporting and increased concurrent-user capacity — delivered on time and on budget.
