The Kraft Heinz Company migrates SAP Business Warehouse to the lightningfast SAP HANA database

The Kraft Heinz Company, a leading global food and beverage maker with operations in more than 45 countries, faced worsening system performance as sales, manufacturing and logistics data volumes grew. Its nightly SAP Business Warehouse reporting batches were nearing their time window, preventing the company from delivering the finer‑grained, timely reports needed to drive supply‑chain savings without impacting mission‑critical SAP systems.

Working with IBM Global Business Services, Kraft Heinz migrated SAP Business Warehouse to the in‑memory SAP HANA platform, first cleansing datasets to shrink the analytics footprint from 18 TB to 9 TB. The move substantially shortened nightly reporting run times, enabled far more granular reports (built in weeks instead of months), and empowered faster, data‑driven decisions that help streamline the supply chain and reduce operational costs.
