A SAP HANA Case Study
SachsenEnergie, a Dresden-based utilities provider offering electricity, gas, heat, water, communications and smart services, created a new construction subsidiary, SachsenEnergieBau GmbH, to better deliver projects. The new company needed a fully functional ERP to map construction processes by its Jan 1, 2021 start date, requiring harmonization of legacy IT, stakeholder alignment, and a rapid implementation despite pandemic constraints.
Working with SAP Services and Support, SachsenEnergie adopted a greenfield implementation of SAP S/4HANA (including SAP-based AVA for tendering/awarding/invoicing) and went live in eight months. The rollout met the deadline, all core processes now run on S/4HANA, the project transferred 300+ framework contracts and supports the €2.5M operation, and the system serves as a pilot for group-wide S/4HANA adoption.
