Simplifying and Automating IT Administration with SAP Landscape Management

ITERGO, the IT service provider for the ERGO Group with about 1,400 employees supporting ~50,000 users, needed to modernize a complex SAP landscape to support SAP HANA and S/4HANA Finance, meet IFRS 9 requirements, and simplify lifecycle tasks. The main challenge was automating administration, patches, updates and audit-ready documentation across heterogeneous environments while maintaining high availability and fast response to changing business needs.

Working with SAP partner beON, ITERGO implemented SAP Landscape Management on a multitenant SAP HANA architecture, using Red Hat Satellite and GitLab for provisioning and configuration. The solution automated provisioning, near-zero-downtime maintenance, failover and disaster recovery, and system documentation; as a result, patching and tenant conversions run without interruptions, reporting is 20% faster, transparency, stability and auditability improved, total cost of ownership fell, the project stayed on time and budget, and five staff now manage the entire SAP landscape.
