Case Study: Technische Universität München delivers hands-on digital-transformation training with SAP HANA

A SAP HANA Case Study

Preview of the Technische Universität München Case Study

Sharpening Students’ Skills for Digital Transformation with SAP S/4HANA

Technische Universität München’s Department of Informatics, a leading center for technical education and an SAP University Competence Center, needed to give students a practical learning environment that reflects digital transformation. The school aimed to expand its education-as-a-service cloud offering to include SAP S/4HANA so students worldwide could gain up‑to‑date SAP skills, while relying on a high-performance, low‑maintenance infrastructure.

TUM migrated a full model company from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA, deployed role-specific SAP Fiori user experiences, and ran the solution in the cloud using SAP HANA tailored data‑center integration on IBM Power Systems—becoming the first UCC to adopt S/4HANA. The move delivered hands‑on exposure to real‑time, analytical and IoT‑ready processes, strengthened the UCC’s education services, and provided global, mobile access with high availability for students and lecturers.
