San Polo Lamiere Refines Precise Metalwork with SAP

San Polo Lamiere, an Italian sheet‑metal specialist founded in 1968, needed to modernize its data and analytics landscape. With ERP in SAP ECC and reporting split between SAP BusinessObjects and spreadsheets, the company faced time‑consuming, labor‑intensive data transfers that slowed real‑time insight and hampered finance planning. Their goals were to reduce costly maintenance and gain flexible, real‑time reporting for planning and operational decisions.

Working with SDG Group, San Polo Lamiere deployed SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud, standing up its first HANA Cloud instance in under 10 minutes. HANA Cloud provided a central, managed data layer with tiering and Native Storage Extension to lower costs and simplify management, while SAP Analytics Cloud delivered live dashboards and prebuilt planning content. The result: freed IT resources, instant sales and KPI visibility, faster finance reporting and planning, and new real‑time analyses such as per‑product margin calculations — enabling continued innovation across the business.
