Case Study: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority achieves streamlined B2B registration, unified business partner data and real-time insights with SAP HANA

A SAP HANA Case Study

Preview of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority Case Study

Revolutionizing B2B registration and unleashing seamless user journeys with SAP S/4HANA transformation

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is a government-owned utilities provider in Dubai serving over 2 million electricity and water consumers. DEWA’s legacy SAP ECC landscape had disparate vendor and customer processes that caused duplicate master data, redundant attachments, inconsistent attributes for the same legal entities, and no single-window B2B registration lifecycle or KPI visibility.

To address this, DEWA migrated to SAP S/4HANA and deployed a SAP HANA–based fuzzy duplicate-identification utility (AMDP), new SAPUI5/Fiori vendor and customer portals, fuzzy-score checks with My Inbox approvals, and Fiori KPI reports. The transformation delivered a unified business partner master (2M+ records), enabled 2M+ external users via online registration, improved data quality by ~15%, boosted efficiency by ~18%, and provided real-time insights for data-driven decision making.
