FARYS is a Belgian water utility serving public and private customers that faced a legal requirement to split several business units into separate companies. To support this divestiture and rising business and IT complexity, the company aimed to consolidate databases, upgrade hardware, and implement a single, flexible finance platform that could deliver real-time insights and simplify accounting processes.

In partnership with Capgemini, FARYS piloted and rolled out SAP S/4HANA Finance with SAP Fiori, performing trial migrations to minimize downtime. The new solution delivered a faster, more intuitive finance system with real-time analytics and integrated reporting—achieving a 7x reduction in database size, 30–50% faster closing runs, a 20–40% leaner IT landscape, a 50% increase in live reporting, and a lower business‑risk profile.
