A SAP HANA Case Study
Corticeira Amorim, a global leader in cork products with 29 plants, 51 distribution companies and more than 27,000 customers worldwide, faced fragmented legacy ERPs and disconnected data that slowed reporting, complicated intercompany transactions, impeded inventory and supply‑chain visibility, and increased manual reconciliation and IT overhead. To scale efficiently and maintain service levels, the company needed a unified, real‑time enterprise backbone.
Working with Deloitte, Amorim implemented SAP S/4HANA to harmonize master data and core processes (order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, plan‑to‑fulfill, record‑to‑report) and deliver a simplified, role‑based UX. The rollout cut invoice processing time by 20%, reduced manual reconciliation by 30% and PO errors by 25%, sped complex batch processing fourfold, halved database size, eliminated a third of interfaces, lowered total cost of ownership, and improved capacity utilization, decision‑making, and customer service.
