Case Study: Gebrüder Weiss Gesellschaft achieves lower TCO and real-time insights for innovation with SAP HANA

A SAP HANA Case Study

Preview of the Gebrüder Weiss Gesellschaft Case Study

Migrated to SAP HANA to Lead in Innovation in Competitive Travel and Logistics Sector

Gebrüder Weiss, a 6,500‑employee transport and logistics company based in Lauterach, Austria, needed to reduce total cost of ownership and boost performance so business units and individuals could make faster, data‑driven decisions in a highly competitive travel and logistics market. The company sought a technical foundation that would support real‑time reporting and future innovation.

To meet those goals, Gebrüder Weiss upgraded SAP BW and migrated SAP ERP and SAP BW from SAP MaxDB to the SAP HANA database, deploying HANA multitenant containers and using SAP ActiveEmbedded and Enterprise Support services for the transition. The migration delivered the needed performance for real‑time analytics and individual data access, enabled leaner SAP operations, and went live on time and within budget; the company now plans short‑term SAP Fiori deployment and medium‑term predictive analytics.
