Mangalam Cement Limited (MCL), a Kolkata‑based mill‑products company producing multiple grades of cement, operates plants, captive power units, windmills, mines and 55 distribution centers in a highly fragmented, price‑sensitive Indian market. Facing intense competition and limited pricing power, MCL needed a standardized, integrated platform to improve accountability, transparency and real‑time decision making across finance, procurement, logistics and production.
MCL deployed SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management across its operations with support from the SAP Enterprise Support team and EY, completing the rollout in six months. By integrating shop‑floor PLCs and weighbridges and automating credit checks, PO and production orders and freight calculations, the company moved to data‑driven decisions—achieving faster book closings, clearer visibility of raw‑material consumption and goods‑in‑transit, more accurate costing, prevention of extra dispatches, and overall operational and productivity gains that support future market‑share growth.
