A SAP HANA Case Study
ITOCHU Corporation, a global trading company with operations in dozens of countries, needed real-time reporting and analytics to manage complex sales, logistics, and finance processes. Its legacy IT landscape made data slow to aggregate, created dependence on individual employees’ skills, and increased the time and cost of responding to new business requirements.
ITOCHU moved to SAP S/4HANA and built an enterprise-wide data lake called HANABI on SAP Business Technology Platform with SAP HANA and SAP BusinessObjects, and launched a business intelligence competency center to drive adoption. The unified infrastructure automated data consolidation, created a single source of truth, and sped up analytics—cutting a monthly profit-and-loss report from four hours to 20 minutes (about a 92% reduction), increasing BI users fivefold, reducing errors, and saving significant time and costs across the business.
