NORD DRIVESYSTEMS Group, a global manufacturer of drive systems based in Bargteheide, Germany (about 3,200 employees and €500M revenue in 2014), powers everything that moves from conveyor belts to theater curtains. To remove performance bottlenecks across core processes and support future growth, the company set out to upgrade its global SAP ERP and SAP Business Warehouse systems.

Working with SAP Consulting and hosting partner OEDIV, NORD migrated its SAP ERP and SAP BW from Oracle to SAP HANA—using SAP’s custom-code migration service and the database migration option—to speed up variant configuration, manufacturing, and sales processes. The migration reduced database size by 66%, cut system response times by 5–50%, optimized roughly 350 custom transactions, increased employee productivity, and established a cost‑effective IT platform for e-commerce integration and a future S/4HANA roadmap.
