A SAP HANA Case Study
Flughafen München GmbH (Munich Airport), one of Europe’s busiest airports, needed to migrate its large Oracle-based SAP ERP and SAP BW systems to the SAP HANA platform. The project posed significant risk because of very large databases and legacy custom code that could complicate the migration and increase downtime and costs.
FMG engaged SAP Enterprise Support to run continuous quality checks and workshops (data volume management, custom code maintainability and related value-map calls). As a result FMG cut its business warehouse from 874 GB to 625 GB, identified roughly 30% of custom code as unused and removable, cleared problematic open documents, and reduced migration time and costs to streamline the move to SAP HANA.
