A SAP HANA Case Study
South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) protects and restores South Florida’s water resources and serves about 9 million residents across 16 counties. Its finance team was weighed down by disparate data sources, inconsistent definitions, manual consolidation and reporting, and an aging legacy database, creating latency and inefficiencies across accounting, funds and grants management, treasury, materials, HR and payroll functions.
Working with Infosys Public Services, SFWMD migrated to SAP S/4HANA and the SAP HANA in‑memory database, standardized data definitions, and adopted the SAP Fiori UX (with a roadmap to SAP Analytics Cloud). The result was faster, more accurate reporting (over 90% faster for some complex reports), a 70% reduction in data‑management cycle times, a 16% improvement in application response, a 10% gain in employee productivity, quicker financial closes, reduced operational risk and cost, and freed staff to focus on higher‑value work.
