Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) in Goa, India, operates one of the west coast’s oldest seaports and handles about 22 million metric tons of import–export cargo annually. Faced with fragmented legacy systems and limited visibility after a 2009 ERP upgrade, MPT needed a faster, more reliable, and integrated platform to improve customer services and support the government’s Sagarmala economic-development initiative.
MPT implemented SAP ERP powered by SAP HANA on SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud and integrated SAP Enterprise Portal with the Ministry of Shipping’s Port Community System. The cloud-based solution improved performance and visibility, streamlined resource planning and operations, enabled online invoicing and payments, reduced bottlenecks, freed IT staff for innovation, and increased the efficiency, capacity, transparency, and reliability of port services.
