A SAP HANA Case Study
WEIG Group, a mill-products manufacturer with ~1,500 employees and operations in Germany and South America, set out to transform from a product-centric industrial company into a customer-driven digital service provider. To offer customer-specific products and integrate customers and partners across the value chain, WEIG needed real-time business insights and a single, modern IT platform to accelerate decision making and simplify partner integration.
WEIG implemented SAP S/4HANA and SAP Value Assurance services, performing a rapid system conversion and a two-step go‑live that included finance, materials, procurement and later cash management, sales, maintenance and more; it also migrated its BW to HANA and ran the solution in a virtualized environment — all on time and within five months. The project delivered real-time access to key data, improved user productivity and mobile experience, and launched a platform to integrate customers and partners, with future plans for SAP Fiori self-service and IoT-based predictive maintenance.
