Clariant AG Advances Forecasting Process

Clariant AG, a global specialty chemical company, faced slow, quarterly forecasting that couldn’t keep up with volatile raw-material markets. Manual conversions from raw-material forecasts to finished-goods cost projections were time-consuming, data was fragmented and hard to trace, and sharing raised security concerns across many operating units.

Working with partner Mibcon, Clariant built a simulation and forecasting engine on SAP HANA and deployed SAP Analytics Cloud with consolidated data from SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW. After a short test and rapid rollout, the company gained live, single-source reporting across 53 countries and 110 operating companies (150–200 users), enabling near-real-time forecasts, faster simulations, stronger pricing decisions, improved margins and volume, and more secure, collaborative analytics.
