A SAP HANA Case Study
Centrica, a multinational energy and services company, needed to modernize its critical SAP estate (including SAP ISU, CRM and S/4HANA) to meet changing customer needs and support a lower‑carbon transition. Processing massive volumes — around 60 million transactions, 30K payments and 145K customer logins daily — the on‑premise landscape struggled with outages, maintenance windows and limited agility, prompting a move to a cloud-native integration platform.
Centrica implemented a hybrid digital integration hub built on SAP HANA Cloud and the SAP Integration Suite, enabling high availability, fast data access, scalability and self‑service provisioning while retaining on‑premise assets during transition. The platform simplified cloud app development (CAP/OData/APIs), improved data accessibility for internal and external consumers, and established a scalable foundation that reduces cost-to-serve, accelerates innovation and supports better customer service and sustainability goals.
