A SAP HANA Case Study
Inabata & Co., Ltd., a Tokyo- and Osaka-based trading company founded in 1890 with operations in 17 countries and more than half of its revenue from overseas, faced governance and efficiency risks from disparate, locally developed core systems. To support further growth the group needed to standardize business processes, visualize global business information, and strengthen internal control and IT governance across its trading subsidiaries.
The company adopted SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA on the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, creating a global one‑instance ERP template (with Singapore as the template base and a pilot launch in Malaysia) and accelerating template rollouts to overseas sites. Results included an on-time pilot, 100% data sharing among group trading companies, a 50% improvement in financial-closing efficiency, and a 50% faster rollout of core systems (about six months per site), while strengthening standardized operations and global IT governance.
